The Department of English at Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College for Women, established in the year 1999, has been committed to fostering academic excellence, intellectual curiosity, and effective communication among students. Since its inception, the department has played a significant role in promoting the study of language and literature while nurturing the intellectual and creative potential of young women. The department is strengthened by a team of highly qualified and dedicated faculty members, including four Ph.D. holders along with other qualified and experienced staff who are committed to guiding students toward academic and personal growth. Their expertise and dedication help create a supportive and intellectually stimulating learning environment. Through a well-structured curriculum, interactive teaching methods, seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and literary activities, the department encourages students to engage with diverse literary traditions and contemporary perspectives. The department also actively conducts English Association activities every year, organizing various literary events such as debates, essay writing, poetry competitions, and guest lectures to enhance students’ creativity, confidence, and communication skills.
