The Beginning of a Vision (1999)

Sri Kanyaka Parameswari Arts & Science College for Women was founded in 1999 by the Committee of Management S.K.P.D & Charities with a singular vision — to promote quality higher education for women.

The foundation stone of the college building was laid by the then Education Minister Mr. K. Anbazhagan, who also graced the inaugural function.

Located in the heart of Chennai’s commercial district, SKPC was established with deep roots in Sanathana Dharma, emphasizing Indian values, compassion, service, tolerance, and holistic personality development.

Empowering Women Through Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurial Development Programme (introduced 2005–2006) fosters self-reliance and innovation among students. SKPC offers diploma and certificate courses in collaboration with Global Software Solutions and NCVTE (MHRD, Government of India).

The management sponsors course fees for first-year students to enhance employability.

Social Clubs

SKPC encourages students to participate in co-scholastic activities including NSS, Youth Red Cross, Rotaract, Eco Club, Red Ribbon Club, Electoral Literacy Club, and Anti-Drug Club.

Adoption of SRS Hostel

Staff and students extend academic and social support through tuition, skill training, counselling, and career guidance at SRS Sarvodhaya Girls Hostel.

Project ‘Feed the Need’

A dedicated weekly food distribution initiative supporting the underprivileged, fostering compassion and service among students.

Creating Futures Since 2006

Established in 2006–2007, the Placement Consortium equips students with industry-ready skills. Over 3000 students have been placed in leading MNCs.
