POLICY FOR SKPC INTERNAL COMPLAINTS COMMITTEE 2023-2024
The SKPC Internal Complaints Committee (SKPC ICC) was reconstituted on 18.08.2022 on the basis of the basis of UGC Regulations, (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions). It is a crucial component of an organization’s commitment to create a safe and respectful workplace.
Purpose: The SKPC ICC is constituted to provide a mechanism for addressing complaints related to sexual harassment and discrimination within the organization. The ICC is committed to create a safe and inclusive environment.
Composition of the SKPC ICC: The ICC will be constituted in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal). It shall consist of the following members:
- Student Representatives
- Principal, Vice Principals
- Members from the teaching community
Objectives of SKPC ICC
- To rectify the complaints related to sexual harassment and ragging of students and faculties
- To ensure the welfare of students, faculty and non-teaching staff.
- To make appropriate psychological support in the form of counseling.
Responsibilities of the SKPC ICC:
- Receiving complaints of sexual harassment and discrimination.
- Conducting impartial and timely inquiries into the complaints received.
- Recommending appropriate actions to address the complaint and prevent its recurrence.
- Maintaining confidentiality throughout the inquiry process.
- Providing support and assistance to the complainant and the respondent during the proceedings.
Procedure for Filing Complaints:
- Students ought to be informed about the existence of SKPC ICC
- The hand written or typed complaint can be dropped in the Grievance Redressal Box.
- Students have to state the nature of the complaint in detail.
- The complaint should include details of the incident, names of individuals involved, and any supporting evidence.
Confidentiality:
- The SKPC ICC will ensure the confidentiality of the complainant, respondent, and witnesses throughout the inquiry process.
- Information related to the complaint will only be shared with individuals directly involved in the investigation.
Inquiry Process:
- The SKPC ICC will conduct a fair and unbiased inquiry into the complaint.
- The inquiry will include interviews with the complainant, respondent and any relevant witnesses.
- Both parties will have an opportunity to present the case and provide evidence.
Recommendations and Actions:
- Based on the findings of the inquiry, the SKPC ICC will make recommendations to the management for appropriate action.
- Actions may include counseling, warning, suspension, termination or any other measures deemed necessary to address the issue.
